afternoon all, after a while of owning my p38 and thru the winter i have noticed that my drivers seat and my mrs seat doesnt heat up!! dispite months of bragging about it, luckily she hasnt realised yet that it doesnt work!? dont no how :rolleyes: haha anyways i have checked the fuses for both seats and they are fine, thats where the buck stops!! dont no what else to look for, so would appreciate any advise :D

ok shant bother then :D the switch works so she thinks its heating up so it will do for me!! thanks for the advice :D
 
I hesitate to have a different view to others on here but in this instance I do. I've done this job for both seats in less than a day. It's not too hard just a progressive step by step thing. I did do the job twice. The first time I followed the advice and spliced in some ordinary flex across the crease in the seat base but as the guys suggest it did go off fairly quickly afterwards. On the second attempt I glued some cloth over where the joins were onto the seat foam - if the foam flexs the wire will follow and not pull. I's suggest you have a go, do the upgrade to the switch and reinforce over the joins. Mines continued to work, both sides, for the last 18 months across two winters. I have it on a lot, it helps ease a bad back!

I have the same problem with my misses
Dont know how to tell her my injection pump is leaking now! right after ive just told her I need to replace the viscose fan and water pump lol

Don't tell her :pound: the thing is if something goes wrong with there car and u take the **** then that's it!! Cold shoulder for the rest of the day lol but if the range goes wrong then "sell the stupid thing" or else!! Funny creatures :amen:

If you have the time it's not a bad job. With the seat out it's usually the bottom squab that has the problem heating element. As posted extend the wires and protect them, they break where your ar*e hits the back of the seat. A few hours, a multi meter, soldering iron and a bit of wire and padding and your back in the good books, especially if you have leather seats :D:D
 
I will give it a go, see if I can get them working! Or at least my seat anyway :banana: thanks for the advice tho chaps!!
 
Does anyone do this for a few beer tokens up here in the north west ? Ive considered a day trip to France because there is a bloke down in Deal,Kent who offers to do it for about £45 a seat with extra padding and upgraded thermostat.

There is a guy in Deal that does the seat heaters for £40 each. He swops the bases over as well which buffs the outer edge up again.

Yes, done both of mine, drivers side twice ( didn't extend the wires first time), lot quicker second time:) I would advise the OP to do his wife's seat (no double entendre intended) first, he could live without his and would have a quieter life:D:D
