Please don't :fighting:me but....
I was politely asked to use the search facility before asking questions that's had already been asked, don't want to upset the hardcore... I did use the search facility and it worked great... The only question I wanted answering was roughy this below... No one answered it then(08) please can someone answer it now...?

My 09 90 is cool, but its gonna get cooler, Can I fit heated seats as a retro fitting...?
I'm not so bothered about the windscreen being heated though I would like the heated seats.
Is it possible to retrofit these? Ie is the wiring already there, and any idea who may be able to do this and if LR actually sell the parts and the matching switch to fit the dash?

yeah if you buy the switch unit... its only a switch! haha

Instead of using genuine lr stuff though. You might consider using something like carling switches (no not beer switches) they are basically marine switches and good stuff they are too. Mud uk sell them (expensive but they sell everything for them) and you can get the icons for them too (I forget the technical term for them as im shattered and going to bed)

Biggest pain in the ass is taking the old seat covers off and putting them back on.

If you get some, run a new junction box off the battery through a relay with a switched live so you cant leave them on a drain your battery. The junction box will be handy for powering other accesories you add in the future too. Do it right so it once and all that....
 
Get the waeco ones that regulate voltage so you dont burn your ass off. The cheap ones get fooking hot and you have to keep turning them on and off to get the best effect.

Like vil says, do the electrics properly or its a recipe for disaster.

NO, the Land Rover switches are just on/off switches.

Depending on which Waeco kit you buy, the switches are either -

Low/Off/High switches - as in Vilguy's link -

or, temperature adjustable, as mentioned by BGB -

A user on the Defender2 forum, did a write-up of installing the Waeco MSH200 kit (with adjustable heat settings) in to a TD5 Defender, here -

He adapted the adjustable heat controls to fit into the TD5's switch positions on the dash centre console -

Personally, I would have put the Waeco switches in the indent at the bottom of the console (where the Red illuminated switch is, in the picture below), and used the factory heated seat switch positions for something else -

I've just bought some used seats to fit into my 300tdi that have heaters in them, genuine LR

The connectors just have 2 wires, is it just a matter of connecting them to a powered switch, is the thermostat in the seat or behind the dash
 
Mmm, heated seats - just the job for a stiff back on a cold morning. Although wasn't I told that sitting on radiators gave you piles.....
 
I'd rather a heated front screen than heated seats. Can anyone advise the most common fault for heated seats failing to work? The wifes seat (passenger) works great but mine doesn't work at all. The little light comes on but no warm bum :(

There is no thermostat.

Your best bet is to wire them up via a relay to be safe. Mine don't get anything more than warm.
