More for interest really.
My 2003 TD4 Sport had only half a screen demist working.
Didn't worry too much but thought I'd check it when I had time.
Took scuttle plastic off today to repair an intermittent park contact on the wipers.
But importantly I noticed the front screen wire had been cut. Looked like it got chopped by wiper mechanism.
Probably wire routed wrong when built ??
Tested screen, fuse, feed and all good.
Fitted new connector and cable and bingo.
All sorted. This is the 3rd build fault I have experienced.
1. Carpet not cut for air con drain pipe causing wet carpet.
2. Glow plug master feed not plugged into master fuse box under bonnet.
3. Above heated screen wiring.
Simple fixes but surprising.
