Heated rear window u/s

Hi folks, heated rear window doesn't work, has power and earth but putting a meter across it shows open circuit.

I though that unless all of the wires on the screen were broken it should still work on any that aren't?

Is there anything else to check or is a new rear window the only solution?

It only needs one of the tracks to go open circuit for the rear heated screen to fail, check the tracks careful, it only needs a fine scratch to cut the track, u will also see burn marks either side of the scratch where it's now open.
There's a special paint available to put on the damage and restore the circuit.
