Tonight I lost both right hand side light and right hand head light dip beam. right hand Main beam still works, and rear right hand side lights still work. All fuses are still intact but have not had a chance to check anything else. Other than bulbs, which I will check tomorrow any suggestions?
Only reason I am asking is it would be a bit of a coincidence for both sidelight and headlight bulb to blow at the same time.

Sounds like the column switch has gone.
That was one of my thoughts as have had that before on both the 110 and the series. But the passenger side dip headlight, and side light both still work. Previously when the column switch has gone it has been a totally failure of both sides rather than just one side on its own.

check the wiring to head light running along the inner wing for damage and the connections on the connector for corrosion where the harness joins bulkhead harness (depending on year )

Do the indicators on that side work? Test for voltage at the bulbs but earth the multimeter to the vehicle.

Yes the indicators and the main beam on that side were working. Having checked the bulbs this evening the whole thing appears to have just been a coincidence. New bulbs in side and headlight and everything is now working so all just a false alarm.

Side lamp could have gone unnoticed for ages and became apparent when the head lamp failed.

Not gone that long as between Christmas and new year I checked them all as had a rear one fail and needed the unit replacing. But I am quite glad it was not anything more serious.
