before anybody says I've tried using the search function!!

I've been looking at headlamp wiring upgrades, I've seen chinese looms for less then £10, the uk based eBay ones with extra spot lamp wiring for £46.99 and the paddock ones for about £30.
what seems to be the best? I will be adding spot lamps at some point.
the only difference i can see is the paddock ones have ceramic headlamp fittings.

which seems to be the best, I've checked the prices of the parts and it seems cheaper to buy a pre built loom then to make one

There was a recent post on the s2 forum with the paddocks loom and I thought it looked good value for the money.

Pretty easy to make your own. Not much cheaper, but you'll know it's a good job. I wouldn't touch a £10 harness with your bargepole. All the bits on Vehicle Wiring Products webpage.

I've been looking into this and it's on my to do list once there's room to get my Landy in the garage over the winter. There's quite a lot of info on the web, but I've read lots of good things about this one (although I can't find the links at the moment):

Although its from Holland, it's quite cheap and they are very helpful by all accounts. The Boomslang one is supposed to be good too.
I'd avoid the Chinese ebay ones - a lot of people seem to have had problems with them either not arriving at all, only getting a relay and a bit of wire, or getting a copy of the above which doesnt actually work properly.

ARB do one too, but it's a lot more expensive. http://www.arbil.co.uk/4x4/products/m004-arb-ipf-wiring-loom-h4-headlight-upgrade.html

Did it on mine. Bought the ceramic light sockets from ebay, the relays from halfords and used some wire I already had.
Upgrade complete on left

Wiring diag used....

Mine are like the ones on the left anyway? Was there different factory looms?
Mine are also like that as standard, maybe look at cleaning your earths. I've got Halfords super bright jobbers but I've also just fitted a led light bar and that's like turning the sun on, it was only fifty quid including postage off ebay :D

2 relays means you loose all of dip/main if relay fails. 4 relays means you only loose one light.

see CFAQ

If the dip beam relay fails swap in the main beam relay. Unless you are off road you probably don't need the main beam. If you do then there is the spot lights. More relays is more points of failure.
