Following a total rebuild I'm down to the last few issues.

Hopefully this is the last electrical issue.........

I've used the TD5 hazard warning switch on my 1988 CSW with 200 tdi fitted using all the wiring guides from this site.

The indicators all worked fine, however when you activate the hazard switch nothing - the indicators will not work at all if the switch is on.

The other interesting issue is that when you push the indicator stalk the trailor light, on the instrument panel, flashes once; there is a tow bar with electrics (looks like a diy job).

I'm going to isolate the trailor electrics tomorrow to see if that is the problem.

ANy thoughts or experience of using a td5 hazard warning switch.

I believe there is a pin thats different on the td5 hazard switches.

The trailer light is meant to flash just once when you indicate and haven't got a trailer plugged in anorl.

My td5 does the same, but the trailer light socket is a factory fit.

The single flash of the trailor light is NORMAL.

Yes I knew that and was just telling Bluehaze its a factory fit idea not a bad wiring job.

Sorry. I thought you wuz saying you thought yours had a problem too.

Yer getting a bit confused with yer quotes aint ya?

Just use the quote tab at the bottom right of the post you wish to quote. As long as you don't delete the [ ] brackets or the contents of the [ ] brackets you can delete or highlight what you want within them.;)

Make sure you type your own answer or response after the [/quote] bit at the end of the quote you are quoting.

Alternatively copy and paste the text you want and then highlight the text and wrap it in quote tags using the little speach bubble icon next to the 'insert image' icon (the tab that looks like a postcard/picture). By doing this it won't say who's text you are quoting though.

Yeah I'm new too all this stuff, its one finger and poor spelling but I'm learning I think, my kids will have a good laugh if they read this.

the reason why the above post hasn't come out right is cos I put [/quote] in my post. If you edit the above post and take out where I wrote [/quote] (between the words 'the' and 'bit') it will read as it should. as I wrote [/quote] it ended the quote you were making.;)

So..... getting back to the original question :p ...

My 90 is displaying the same symptoms - it's not the switch as that is brand new, and I've checked continuity across the various pins and they are correct (assuming the workshop manual is correct!) So what's next?

Ian.

Thanks all:

The trailor light flashes once when the stalk is activated - ok

I found a poor connection at the rear - fixed it and hay presto the hazards work fine.

I've also thrown the pulse wire into a spare bulb in the warning panel - so the light flashes when the hazards are on.

What a ballache but satisfying!

Next problem, and last!
