Don't get the Tratter humour - there's to many of them visiting here lately - lowering the tone on the place :)

We'll all be happy with oil under our fingernails and welding burns on our trousers soon !

The fencing and security was much better on the old site.

I should have just watched the 1/2 time analysis in the West Ham game.

Tratterers have ridiculed our Freelanders for many years in the hope they will push the price down of buying one. They have always been secretive about coming in ere regular to window shop. Now they is starting to buy our trusted FreIanders on the cheap. I has warned about this before. Freelandering is the way forward and they knew it all along.

will always have a soft spot for freelanders, had mine for 6 x years and never broke down once

was really sorry to see it go, but must admit adore my new d3 , fantastic smooth engine and been up some of the same hills i did with the freelander and a massive difference

am looking forward going greenlaning and having a play with the terrain response system

Chaps, @GrumpyGel @Hippo @gstuart my Mrs naively bought a mk1 Hippo off Ebay without any input from me and tbh I loved it. However, it went to its first MOT and failed miserably (so I was told anyway). Had I been confident enough to deal with some of the issues I'd still have it now.

The garage claimed it was the worst example he'd ever seen, salt corrosion at the seatbelt anchors etc etc, so as opposed to paying £1500 for the repairs I sold it to him for bobbins. A week later it was back on the road being driven by some woman with kids in the back. Believe I was royal turned over.

My Defender is currently sat outside my house as a boat anchor, it has many issues which need sorting the door bottoms are rotten, the heater is goosed, it needs a new windscreen and it requires many other repairs, I usually enjoy scraping ice off the inside of the windscreen at this time of year too. So, if you are driving and enjoying your hippos then I salute you.

ICE ???

What is this thing ?

I know nothing of it ?
HOW CAN there be ICE when winter is almost upon us and the temps have dropped to 20 degrees centigrade ?

I had a recent windscreen replacement and they asked if I wanted heated ? - I thought they were taking the P!SS ?

A Duff -Ender is simply NOT in the same league as an L series freelander... mind you :p - no other Freelander is either....

lol, When we got the Freelander 5 or 6 years ago I was wanting to get a D2 - but after 10 years of D1 ownership the Mrs wanted to change to Freelander because she was fed up of writing off Subarus in carparks!

I took advice from my brother, who has worked for LR for 25 years and was in charge of team building prototype cars for them, and he said to definitely go for the D2. Of course armed with that expert advice, the Mrs still won the argument!

I have to say, I'm glad she did, and we luckily ended up with an L Series which has helped my enjoyment of the car. It has broken down on us twice, once down to me and once a fault on the engine. In winter we also have "snow" on the dashboard after scraping ice off the inside of the windscreen - frost fueled by water in the cabin probably from the heater matrix and coming in through the rear door. So its had/has a couple of problems, but overall its been a great car :)

joking aside i will miss my hippo and was a great motor

but seeing i've now gone onto the dark side i won't forget where my home is, lol

the hippo never let me down , was lovely to drive

but just needed a change and when this bargain turned up, temptation jumped out, :D
