I'm assuming that these are the same load of tosh as the fuel magnets and the air spinner things... but I can see the principle behind them. Defenders are about as aerodynamic as a brick and the drag created by the boxy end will be loads more than a sleek saloon type car....They are sold as being good for lorries and they are a similar shape to Defenders.

Any thoughts?

i can see it in principal but it wont work for a land rover. there are thousands of other ways to reduce drag, improve mpg etc on your rover. you dont need to spend $200 on pieces of plastic.

the same answer as the hyclones... if you got everything and loads of money to spend then get them. otherwise why bother? if you were worried about fuel economy and drag you wouldnt be driving a land rover!

True, true. I was just interested to know if anyone has had any experience of them. I think to get any return on the fuel savings I would have to drive a long way indeed!

what can i say??? chequer plate has now slipped to no. 2 in the list of things not to stick on a landy.. these things might work well and look ok on an artic (as they was designed fer). but if that crv is anything to go by, you'll need to wear a balaclava if you had them on a landy.

i really doubt if they will have much effect on a small vehicle.

these things( no other word to describe them) were fitted on every vehicle belonging to asda a couple of years ago, they are designed to make the air flow better as it goes around the trailer. they havent had em fitted on the latest batch of wagons so we can safely assume they were nowt but a pile of ****. they also look stupid and like slob says, they pip chequer plate into the top slot of " **** things to fit on yer motor"

If you want to make money, either start a crackpot religion (very popular in the US) or come up with an 'invention' to save fuel.

I can remember lots of devices, including those things which were supposed to let your engine run on unleaded (which made things worse when tested) and others to increase your spark power (normally just an air gap). How about water injection - haven't heard of that one for a while.
