Has a 2014 Fl2 a cold start procedure?

Cold starting. Does this work in a fl2 that has no key to insert?

Push start button without clutch in. Then leave for 20 seconds, then start normally.

Wondering if doing this actually does heat the glow plugs before actually starting, it does show the glow plug light.

Seems in winter the car takes an extra couple of caws to fire up, so if pressing the start button and waiting helps before starting normally, I'll start doing this.

AFAIK, you can just depress & hold clutch, push the start button and release it immediately… the car will do what’s needed behind the scenes and start itself when ready.

That said, I was shown by a Sage on here to push the button to switch on ignition, and allow it to do its vehicle checks, prior to pushing to ‘start’. Therefore, my routine is;
Get in, push button (no clutch), let vehicle do its checks whilst I put on seat belt, then depress clutch, push and release button again and allow car to start as it sees fit.

If the engine doesn't start swiftly, then it's very likely that the glow plugs have failed, which is very common. It seems FL2 glow plugs last 2 maybe 3 years, as they are used a lot after starting for emission reduction, even if they aren't actually needed for the cold start itself.
