Hi Guys,

My wipers aren't working on my 1985 station wagon. Replaced the wiper motor, still not working. Replaced the stalk, still not working. I can't find the relay (looked behind the fuse board). The relay seems to be bypassed.

any ideas? Help much appreciated.

Mike

There's a little control unit that goes dodgy. Replaced mine years ago, which is why I can't remember much about it. Only cost a few quid to swap out though.

Try the park switch (is that what you were talking about Al?).

I have been on fault finding with my wipers and so far have replaced the park switch, the relay and the wiper stalk. They mostly work now, but there is no high speed. I don't use it anyway, so it doesn't bother me.

I would guess that there has to be a relay for it somewhere?

Yes, James that was it. Unfortunately, mine is attached to the bulkhead in my mates garage, as I have the Landy completely stripped down. Couldn't go and check it out easily. It's years ago, but I think the symptoms were variable - not stopping for ages, travelling too far and I think at times not starting when you first put them on. I think mine may be on the way out again as just before the strip down I remember the Mrs telling me the wipers would occasionally stop on for an extra dozen wipes after being switched off :)
