2014, freelander 2, my haldex is working intermittently even though serviced around 1500 mls ago, a friend who recently broke his 2012 freelander has given me his old complete haldex which I have just serviced, can I just fit to my car or will the ecu on the haldex need to be programmed to my car or will I need to fit ecu of my old haldex

Assuming they are the same generation Haldex, then it should work.
If it’s working intermittently, have you checked the wiring to the Haldex unit? Up by the rear diff, wire the wiring harness plugs in, it’s quite exposed.

I don’t think they are coded to the car’s ECU.
