Hairline Cracks on Coolant Expansion Tank

Just noticed some hairline cracks around the cap area on my coolant tank.
All below the cap area and some about 10mm long.

So I think it best to change it quickly.

My FL is an 03 1.8 Serengeti 5Dr and I take it that it has the old type cap fitted, eg not the ratchet type.

Is there a new type coolant tank and cap available or do I have to fit a new tank of the same design and quality of the existing one.

If anyone has the part numbers required that would help when I go and see my busy LR parts man tomorrow.

Yes - there is a new type coolant tank as now fitted to the latest Hippo - it appears to have a water level sensor in the base - you might need to purchase tank, cap and sensor. see attached.

Just trying to avoid the dreaded HGF as much as possible, by making sure all the latest mods etc are on the vehicle.

remote thermostat and electric water pump - thats the best answer so far.
extra oil cooler and gearbox cooler if yu got the auto is the next option.

I take it by remote thermostat you are refering to the one fitted behind the radiator (white coloured one)as opposed to the old type fitted to the engine.

Must look at an electric water pump as well

QED remote thermo looks good as does the water pump.

Better get the old cheque book out then I suppose.

A bit of expense now might, LOL, save more expense later.
