hi, i'm new to computers and to landrovers, i've got a problem with my rangerover already, the auto box dosent do what it's supposed to, it takes a long time to change up gear and it has no reverse! can any one suggest a solution other than new gear box...or is that most likely? thanks:)
 
Sounds like you've got a seized or clogged valve in the box. When was the last time the box was serviced? If you don't know... assume it hasn't been. Buy an industrial quantity of Dexron III ATF and flush the box out with it (drain and refill... drive the knackers off it for 10 mins then drain and refill again) and see if that helps - change the filter too particularly if the fluid that's in there is very dark or has a 'toasted' sort of smell to it.

Is the gearbox overheat light on?
 
thanks for the advice,i'll try doing that tomorow....the oil looks in good condition, and no warning lights are on, but i'll still flush it out...and thrash it!!!
