Thought I'd best say hello before I wade in with a few questions about my latest acquisition!
I've just bought a 93 Discovery TDi, which thanks to the great info in the tech section here, I believe is a 200 series ???
The Disco is to transport the 2 Rottweiler puppies that Madam bought 6 weeks ago, hopefully we'll get a few miles out of it before they completely trash it!
I've had a few Range Rovers, I started about 7 years ago with a Classic 3.5, kept that for a year and then bought a P38 4.6 HSE which I kept for about 2 years, using it both for shooting and as a general runaround.
I then progressed to a 4.4 Vogue which was nothing but trouble having numerous parts replaced under warranty, which fortunately my dealer managed to sort, in spite of the fact that the car was 6 months out of warranty when the rad failed, and 9 months out of warranty when the front diff gave up!
I did what anyone sensible would do after having had a bad experience with a car......I went out and bought a brand new one!
I've currently got a Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 Supercharged which has done 23,000 miles.
The S/C has hardly been trouble free.....it's returned to the dealer 4 times for one fault and 7 times for another, so it's not a car I want to own without a rock-solid warranty!
The main reason I joined here was that I intend running the 160,000 mile Disco on Bio-Diesel as a bit of an experiment, so I wanted to find out if others have attempted the same, and what, if any, issues they've encountered?
It seems like there's a helpful and knowledgeable bunch on here, so maybe I'll get the answers I need!
Just so you know, my Range Rover is a million miles from being a Chelsea tractor, I tow a trailer (using the world's most expensive towbar ) with it at least every other weekend, and I frequently use the car off-road when I'm out shooting.
Anyway, glad you let me join in
