Hello from a new member, have been lurking here for some time.
My regular transport is an ex-MOD 110 (12V) which I've had since it was retired in 2002. I haven't been kind to it for the last couple of years and it's been coughing and spluttering, and sulking on cold mornings. Have just replaced all the glowplugs after discovering two were open-circuit and now it starts well. Still a bit smokey but perhaps that will clear after a long run. A compression test showed around 400psi on all cylinders. If it remains smokey perhaps the next stage should be checking the injectors. No cross-contamination between oil and coolant.
I also have a P38 4.6 HSE (Thor). Stripped the front diff while enthusiastically playing with the 4-wheel traction control. Otherwise it's a good low-milage specimen, apart from a ticking which I hope is just a stuck tappet. I'm tempted to fit a couple of Ashcroft ATBs, but first I need to convince myself that the engine tick isn't more serious than I hope.
Have also had a couple of Classic RangeRovers, now sold on to people who I hope will restore them.
