Hi this is my 1st post :).
I have just bought my 1st Landrover Defender had it a week now but back and forward to work is such a waste!
I am looking for any info on Greenlaning in Scotland I Live in West Lothian which is pretty much in between Glasgow and Edinburgh I am prepared to travel. So any info would be really appreciated.

Strange thing is in Scotland to go green laning. Is when you can find the roads you need the land owners permission to use them as there all private roads.

I have been on a few in fife and Tay side but that is with asking. Then picking up the gate key and with a good bottle of something single malt.

But you will get grief from the bobble hatters demanding to know why your up there. My last time was with the MS society my answer to them was " so your saying that those with a disability are not allowd to enjoy the country side" they soon shut up and moved on:D
 
Ok I have read the laws are slightly diff in Scotland. Thanks for your replies I'll have a look around and see if I can blag a run somewhere.
 
Do you get many freelanders coming along on these trips out?

Have a 04 3 door that i would love take off road again, run 17's with michelin M+S rated tyres.
 
As was already said, the green laning in Scotland is a lot different to that in England and Wales.
We seek permission from the Landowners prior to venturing into their land. The advantage of this, of course, is that we get to go places where the General Public never see.
We try to have a run each month.
Yes, AJM, we have a few Freelanders in our Membership. If a run is particularly non-Freelander friendly, Sandy will say so in the Forum and Website.
