Greenlaning in Gloucestershire this sunday!

Hi all,

Im off greenlaning on sunday starting around birdlip and going to head eventually to fosseway starting at kemble. does anyone know of good routes starting from birdlip? i know there is one just not sure where it starts! If you fancy joining me let me know!

youve got to be daft... have you any idea what a mess youll make of a green lane in this weather,

Mostly not much as its frozen solid - The fosse way you can drive along in a car as its basicaly a gravel track now .

I don't know where anything is out that way but I may be interested mate. What do u drive? What u Hoping to find???

I havent done any there but a few people have mentioned some routes on different forums. I drive a discovery 1, iv got the relevant OS map so just going to start at birdlip and then eventually fosseway after having a scout around duntisbourne/ woodmancote area. Have u driven the fosseway?Let me know if youre keen!
With reference to 'ricc', we wont even touch the surface as the ground is rock hard so im not worried in the slightest, the only place tyre tread marks will be left is the snow!

yeah sounds like a laugh. never done any lanes out that way at all so good to have a look around. sounds like fos has been re-surfaced, sypher says u could drive it in a road car now. do u have much experiance laning or have u just bought it and want to see what its about???

i should be ok to come on out, better clear it with she who must be obeyed first tho ay.

Most of the fosse can be driven in something like a toyota rav 4 but there is a ford that can come up pretty deep, and a few deep potholes. One of the fords has a bridge off to the right, that is the right of way, not the river. would have loved to join but sadly i'm busy. hope it goes well Harry

i don't know of many, but pretty familiar with the first few miles of the fosse from kemble way. there are some good fords further down but i've never gone that far past the first 2 so don't know how to get there/the legality. some pictures have popped up on here of the later fords before, might be worth searching. I think it was griff that put them up
