One possible cause is an internal leak inside the oil cooler, which is integral with the oil filter assembly. I see from your profile you have a Puma, is it the 2.2 or 2.4? Can post the workshop manual page if you want. There are other causes ----
Thanks - it is a 2.4
i did drive it with cap not on properly so it boiled over - not sure if that could be the cause?
