Last night me and my lad went out for a ride to the beach in our 110 truck cab just to have a look at the sea and get a bit of fresh air. Drove up to the top of the dunes and there was a disco parked up in a slightly odd place. My lad said "He looks stuck to me". I didn't think so but lo and behold the driver got out and came over to ask for help. He'd been playing about and had got himself beached well and truly with both pasenger side wheels off the ground! Anyway we tried to give him a yank out with a bit of polypropelene rope I had in the cab but it snapped straight away. The chap was getting a bit desperate as by now it was getting dark. He'd rung the AA and by the sound of it they'd had a good laugh at his predicament and told him to ring back tomorrow! Anyway to cut a long story short we went home, got the other 110 with fat tyres, a winch and a proper recovery strop, hooked his disco up and yanked him out without to much trouble. He was a very, very grateful man indeed and we felt like we'd done our good deed for the day, but on the way home we wondered if we would have gone to the same lengths if it had been a Toyota or some other crappy foreign "truck". Don't think we would probably:D

Yer wouldn't 'ave needed to if it wernt a Landy - they'd have got stuck way before the disc did and yer 110TC would 'ave pulled it out with the polyprop rope ;)

A few years ago i too was a good samariton in a similar situation.
Two lads got their suzuki SJ stuck in a pond up near me on the moors above Hebden bridge.
It was well stuck in ****e upto about 2 inches below the door windows..
I remeber it well Sunday night around 7pm just going dark.
Me missus saw em while she was out with the dogs, so came home and told me about it,.
Me being ALL man and just aquired a 1977 2.25 perkins S3 off me brother 5 days earlier and itching to go playing rorared up to help the stricken lads out of a their puddle.. after much fooking about gerrin ****ed throu and covered in ****e we mamaged to get them out.
Sadly i also managed to pull the rear cross member off the S3. (Larger bang and crack gave it away just as suzuki poped from muddy pit)
Twas this point that i discovered a valuable lesson in human nature.
Nay the stuck lads were well grateful and even bought me a pint and gave me some diesel for me trouble.
No it was discovering me own frickin brother had sold me a landy with the most **** poorly rotten chassis in living history.
and he a time serverd mechanic never noticed it..
Phew worra ****!.
I fix puters me havent got a clue bout cars...still smile bout it now..
