The bane and joy of my days is my 1972 series three swb which is currently in rag top mode. Like thunderbird two she has a number of options with a full hard top and a crew cab option but I like the canvas the best. Obviously she is already tax exempt but when renewing the tax online yesterday the MoT exempt box came up and as long as nothing major had changed or been converted you could declare your landie was unblemished. Hurrah. Mind you the combined costs of the last three tests should mean she is good for a few years yet. Oh how I wish we did automotive welding back in school!
I have just taken a redundancy option after 29 years in local government so I have time to tinker with my two main vices, the landie and a kayak. We all live in Exeter so the estuary, The Exe, the canal and the beaches beckon regularly. It's actually a great feeling to just rock up, pull the kayak out of the back and be in the water in a minute or two. Watching the young dudes with their expensive, bespoke kayak racks, wheels, all the gear no idea stash and preening before judging the cloud cover to wind direction ratio always makes me chuckle. When signing up this forum asks for your idea of a dream landie. I'll take Dolcie as she is but a decent heater would'nt go amiss.
