Go Electric or Not

I think electric propulsion has a future and technology is advancing rapidly but certainly isn't for the masses yet.

I reckon though that it's currently a good time to buy a small 2/3 Yr old electric car as depreciation has been so heavy, in fact, I can't see it lasting. They're ideal as second cars even if you factor in a 10 year life, and if you charge at home, cheap to run. 10 years seems to be the typical lifespan for modern cars anyway with wet belt technology and electronics which are so expensive to repair.

I think as a city family car electric is fine for 15 minute commute. Sadly designers feel you need a sports model a model the SUV a haulage truck model a aircraft a sea going ship. All not keeping to same thing as not to offend the buyer in looks.
Unless you can prove to me, the military are buying defenders in droves, the EV version of Landrovers and provide the infrastructure and military maintenance setup. Then Joe public transport is bus train bike pony and trap 🚳😁 or walking.

well I have owned my D2 now since, 2006, so I have not had 6 cars in the time as Ikept this one or bought an EV that cost's as much as 6 modern cars to make, so by my calc I save the planet loads

This is an interesting counterpoint to the Canadian dude's video:

Personally? I don't have the infrastructure up here to go EV, nor is there any EV that makes me want to make the jump, but the way the noggies have smashed out the infrastructure, Internal Combustion Engines don't really make sense anymore...
