I need some glow plugs for my landy, does anyone know who makes them still? i cant find them in any of the books at work

I used these from Paddocks:

Modern type wired in Parallel, so if 1 fails the other 3 still work as against the original type which were wired in series, if 1 failed they all stopped working, like a christmas tree.
Alsolute doddle to do.

i know about the padock ones but i need to know who manufacture them preferably with the manufacturers part number, ngk and champion don't list them
Champion and Bosch do a variety of plugs for every application

i will see if we have a bosch book the oldest landy in the currant champion book is the 2.5D 110 of 1983

its a '74 cheers mate, we prob have them on the shelf but they have dropped out of the computer database and the books due to there age
If it's a 1974 it must be a 2.25 diesel.
my book lists:
Make Part number
BERU 219CG or 220G
Champion CH45 Exposed or CH63 Sheathed
Bosch 0 250 002 009
Lucas / CAV DS 102
all should be nominal voltage rating 1.7 volts and 68 watts for connecting in SERIES in these engines, with a resistor in line too..
What do you think? Any use?

i had some ADL (blueprint) ones turn up at work today an them fookers are wrong, right paddocks it is.....cheers for the help everybody

Have you considered trying to find out if there are 12 volt plugs that would fit the holes in the head?
The original plugs are dim buggers compared to the 12 volt ones.
Dead easy to wire up.

the ones i had come thru had what look like a kettle eliment on the end the old ones are normal lookin glow plugs, plus the paddock ones are cheaper too even at cost price the adl ones are £27 inc vat
Sure enough .... the kettle element ended ones are fine and dandy if they FIT, and are the right voltage, and they are very good at starting the engine from cold.
They stopped using that type only because they tended to wear out quite quickly as the element was in the flames all the time.
They may be the very ones you need.

There a little longer than the ones in there i will try them out tomorow i think i am gonna need new wires tho the old knurled nut was siezed on so the plug snapped when i tried to remove it, also the adl ones ahve a wierd ceramic collar on the thread (wire end) i will get a photo of them 2moro
Good plan.
If they are the same as the originals you may as well use them up, while you investigate how to get 12 volt plugs to fit, that can be wired in parallel.
Take great care with all the wires from each plug to the next, and remember the end one needs to be earthed in some way.
Series connection of glow plugs is a pain in the arse - if one plug fails they all stop heating, and on a cold day your chances of starting her up are dismal.

especialy on veg oil! its the reason my landy wont start! is the paddock set (with wires) 12v?
Well, I don't know which ones you got, sut surely they will be marked with a voltage rating?
The other way to tell is that the LOW voltage ones for connecting in SERIES must have TWO wire connections each, and there must be NO continuity between either connector and the body of the plug. You can test that with a resistance meter set to ohms or continuity buzzer, like infinite ohms and no buzz.
12 volt plugs for connecting in parallel only have ONE cable connector, the other one being to earth through the body of the plug. You can test that with a resistance meter set to ohms or continuity buzzer, like very small ohms (maybe 1 or two, but some) and instant buzz.
With any luck you have 12 volt plugs which fit the head. 12 volt plugs are MUCH hotter, and will fire her up far better.

i think the ones i have in there are 12v as i only have one wire runnign along the lot the adl one are marked 1.7v are the paddock ones 12v?
If it is one wire clearly UNBROKEN and connected to the top of each plug, then 12 volt plugs it is.
This suggests to me the ADL ones are not correct.
How about post a photo of the two types of plugs?
I don't know how to do this but some clever people do!
The list runners should make it easy to post a photo.
