glow plugs on 12j engine

Hi can anyone say is there an easy way of checking these are all working without removing them ie with a multimeter. nothing in haynes manual.

Its no hassle to take them out and wire them up to a battery. If they glow red they're ok.
No substitute for taking them out to check the overall condition.

hi Joe do you need new seal washers if you remove them?

Section 86-17 in the work shop book will tell you how to check the plugs, as far as I know there isn't a washer on them.
