Hi
I've had a 2000 DSE P38 for about a year now and it has been pretty good to me (there is a blend motor awaiting attention!). Before that I had 200 TDi 90 which had to go because of Boris and his low emission zone and that in turn replaced a diesel Series 3. I've found this forum to be a great source of info, thanks for all the posts :)

I've just replaced all the glow plugs to solve a lousy starting issue (I did the injector bleed of pipes last weekend but they were ok). The glow plugs had been replaced by the previous ownder some time after Dec 2010 (he kindly left the packaging in the glove box) and he had used the "allmakes" brand. Three of the glow plugs had failed which to my mind is pretty unimpressive in about two years of use. The three that failed were the three nearest the gearbox and I was wondering if there is any reason why these three whould have preferentially failed? I can't think of a reason but I though I would ask on here in case I need to apply some more tlc to avoid a repeat failure.

Before anyone asks, I replaced with Delphi glow plugs from Island 4x4, it strikes me as false economy to use a cheapo brand for the sake of £20, especially given the expereince of others on this forum and the hassle of replacement.
