You're going to love it if you buy one.
There's no reason TO love them, there's every reason NOT to love them, but
the little buggers get into your blood, and you just can't part with them.
Well that's the case with my 1992 Soft-top "widetrack" version. Everything
logical tells me to ditch it in favour of the 80 Series Landcruiser (I have
a family of 4, and there just isn't any room left in a zook if you put wife
and 2 kids in there, especially for camping etc) but I'll probably end up
keeping it as a "toy" and getting the 80 series for family trips.

Here are some links from my bookmarks. I haven't got a lot of links relevant
to it, because I drive it, not research it, and we have a suzuki 4WD
specialist in my town where I get all the mods etc done, who knows all I
need to know about the vehicle.

My best resource so far has been the newsgroups for answers to questions.
I'm in Australia (where the Samurai is called the "Sierra") so I use
news:aus.cars.offroad for a lot of my questions.
When doing web searches try all the names such as Sierra, Samurai, Jimny,
etc.

http://www.cardomain.com/id/bigsamurai (How I'd love mine to look like this
one day, but it never will)

Hope this helps get you started.

We have a Tracker and a Sidekick. Wouldn't trade either of them.
Just had a new engine put in the Sidekick (it's a '91 four door
4X4). The other's a '98 two door 4X2.

I have trailer hitches on both of them and take them out in the
woods to collect firewood. They do just great.

They're easy to work on if you are handy and if you have the shop
manuals.

If you are looking for serious offroader than I think it is better to choose
Samurai (Sierra) because it is smaller, lighter vehicle than sidekick. There
is more accessories for samurai such as low gears, suspension kits, engine
mods, bumpers and much much more. It is more offroad capable vehicle than
suzuki cause it have front and rear solid axles. I'm owner of Suzuki Samurai
and I wouldn't trade it for any other trail vehicle cause it is light
weight, and this is biggest advance among other heavy vehicles specially in
muddy conditions.
If you are looking for vehicle that goes 100MPH and is quiet and drives good
on road and also have good offroad abilities than sidekick is far much
better choice.
You first have to decide what will be purpose of your future vehicle and you
will realize it self.

You guys are convincing me to get one. Are parts pretty easy to get as can I
go to the local auto parts store and pick up a part ? Are parts reasonably
priced ?
Thanks,
Iowa883

Can't say about the US but the parts are relatively easily and cheaply
obtained here in Australia.

Go to suv online for alot of good info on both.Ebay has a ton of parts
even complete Trackers. If you do get a sidekick or Tracker. You
will love it. Look into the ECM issue on trackers up to 1995.There is
even a fix posted ob SUV online. You can buy replacement ECMs online tons
cheaper than dealer price.Good luck and have fun.
