Hello chaps,

Got a bit of a problem. The Duchess will go into reverse and first and she moves in those gears too. However grinds like mad even in neutral and won't engage other gears, the stick just won't go in! I have found what I think might be the problem. The clutch master looks to have a slight leak as I found some fluid on the rod when I moved the rubber boot (as suggested by the green bible).

I had the same problem a month or so ago where I needed to fill and bleed the clutch then it worked fine. I'm hoping it's this and not the clutch!!

Any help would be super

Thanks

Put high low ratio lever [red knob] into nuetral to see if that helps .
Have you checked the gearbox oil level?
Centre one will be back in 1st gear.

With high/low in nuetral start engine and see what it sounds like .
If it sounds ok try again to move it.

Right got it out of first but still squealing like a pig getting buggered that's been set on fire:frusty:

Chaps just a thought could it be something as simple as not enough oil in the transfer box??

Remove rear main shaft bearing carrier on back of transfer case and check nut on main shaft is tight. 5 nuts on passenger side of transfer case do not need to drain oil.
You can look at it through small plate on top of transfer case.
Nut should have a lock washer hammered over into slot to keep it tight.

Thanks for everything chaps. Problem solved, turned out to be the fact there was bugger all oil in both the trans box and gear box. Still won't engage gears other than reverese, but as the green bible says its a master cylinder.
