gearbox replacement

Hi all i need to change the gearbox in my series ,i put a 19j in it and now the series box is ready (jumping out of every gear) but what are my options i know lt77 is obvious but fetching silly money,did the lt77 go in any other vehicle (like the sherpa or ldv vans,if so will the transfer box just slot on ,the disco lt77's seem to be cheaper but ive been told this puts your levers in an awkward place,is there an auto alternative??? i dont use it for trialling just my daily runner and a bit of ****ing about so i would lean toward economy over performance or is there just an obscure box that fits i dont mind moving mounts or cross members

You can buy another series box and rebuild it then install that. Not mega difficult. Your options are a bit limited I think as you point out due to length. You may be able to fit a short r380 somehow or maybe a box from a forward control? I dont know whats involved tho sorry.
Consider another series box, when built right they are ok to drive with an o/d fitted.

Cheers mate but again overdrives have gone through the roof but it looks like the options are a short lt77 or r380 i was just hoping someone had matched something obscure at some point and found it worked
