Gearbox problems 2007 90

New to this forum and after some pointers please. Got half way down the road earlier and suddenly lost my gears. Horrible noise etc. Anyway, after messing around with the H/L, diff locked etc. It appears if I have the diff locked i can use the gear box. With diff lock off I can't get anything in high or low other than the Horrible rattling noise.Any ideas??

Put it in diff lock. Jack up each wheel in turn on its own and try to turn it. When you find a wheel that turns that’s the offending corner.
Start with the back.

Assume you have checked underneath to see nothing is hanging off like the Propshaft ?

Which 1 “short rear”?

Why not do it yourself peeps here to help. Not many tools needed if all goes well.
