Hi guys , have searched but cant find my specific issue , hopefully its not too rare.
I have a 2007 Range Rover sport with 170’000 on the clock.
Runs fine excepting for changing ( auto) from 3rd to 4th, it is only occasional but will happen on virtually every trip at least once. On changing the rpm seems to drop significantly and you can feel a bump , hicccup type sensation from the engine as if changimg down innapropriately, the “ F” will then appearon the dash and the transmission failure only certain gears are useable appears also. In my case 1/2/3rd gears only . If you stop turn engine off and restart the problem goes away.
Any one any ideas on what this may be before I take it to the garage and get charged the earth?
