Hi all,
I have a 1985 converted 200tdi Defender with a Dico transfer box. We are having some issues with it first being reverse. We can select reverse but it won’t stay in, ran it down to the local specialist who told us they thought the synchros were out of alignment and as a result it needed a new gearbox or a rebuild. The second issue is the clutch which seems to be slipping slightly and has lost lots of its travel (only biting at the bottom of the travel) the specialist told us it needed a new master cylinder as fluid is leaking. Overall the specialist “couldn’t source a replacement gearbox” and wasn’t willing to rebuild the existing one. Any recommendations for specialists in the Tonbridge/Sevenoaks area or general advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Edit:
Issue resolved - reverse light switch was unwound a few turns and has fixed the problem completely!
