Had an embarrassing moment at the petrol station in my Heinz 57 Land/Range Rover, the auto selector got stuck in Neutral. Of course, tools were all at home, so yet another set of screwdrivers was duly purchased.
On inspection, the circlip that holds the selector button to the shaft was missing and had been bodged with some PVC tape, which in the current warm weather decided to call it a day. Question is, what diameter is the metal bar that the circlip goes around. Is it 6mm or 1/4"? Engine and box are from a 1991 Range Rover EFi, and is not covered in my Land Rover Haynes manual...
