gear box problem

Can any one shed some light on this problem.51 plate discovery , the auto box looses drive and two warning lights appear on the dash board. If the car is stopped, put into park, then drive, it works fine, and lights go out.

Had the same problem with reverse on my td5 auto turned out to be the xyz switch on the gearbox

Before spending money get it plugged in also a low battery can cause problems

I,m with Darren on this.
Get the battery checked or replaced.
Similar on my 02 Disco auto. Changed battery and no more problem for last 11 months.
Tempting fate I know

the best would be as already suggested to plug in a tester, there are 15 reasons for those M+S lights even though the switch and the battery are the most common
