I overheard someone today (who had their defender stolen) saying that there have been 14 defenders stolen in Gateshead this month. All older style.

Thought it was worth mentioning as they are obviously being stolen to order.

I generally only park mine in secure areas and at home, but I'm now looking at additional security.

I'm sorry to say but if they want it they'll take it no matter what added devices you put on it but I have to admit the more you put on they may look for a easier one to take the thieving toe rags

I go for disklok, clutch claw and battery isolator switch when i leave it unattended for long periods of time, often parked down side streets. I'd rather take the time having to take them off than to search for it when it goes walk about. I'm a bit further out from newcastle/gateshead but police around here are regularly stopping defenders after the recent wave of them being lifted.

Thanks For the heads up Lee!

A work colleague had his TDCI bonnet and drivers door stolen whilst his land rover was securely parked on his drive overnight in North Tyneside - Frightening really!

At present I'm using a Disclock as a visual deterrent and hope to fit a fuel cut off solenoid as a practical solution. Additionally, I'm going to disconnect the barrels in the door locks and in their place place fit central locking.

Paid just over 200 for my collection of devices, but i prefer knowing they'll have multiple hoops to jump through rather than just the one, not to mention the visual deterrent.

But the boxes look the business, take them a while to get through it.

Found an x-eng defender at a slightly more reasonable price, so I've got one on order. I'm keen on those boxes because you don't have to secure them when not in use and they are so easy to use, that there is no excuse not to, even if your just nipping in the shop. I'll be adding other measures also.

Do you have the link?! I'm quite keen for something like this!

You can get them from a few places, but I've had good service from Padocks in the past, so I ordered from there. I'm assuming they are shut for Chirstmas at the moment, but I ordered anyway.

X-Defend Defender Pedal Lock - RHD vehicles

I take it all back, after showing as in stock they are now saying they don't have a date for it, whatever that means. [rant]I don't know what it is these days, that you just seem to get crap service everywhere, pretty much without exception. Seems to be the norm now. I'm bloody sick of it![/rant]
