gasket

Hi all happy new year

I have a defender 200tdi and am about to change the rocker cover gasket and the re seal the oil sump. My question is do i need to use a sealant as well as the gasket on the rocker cover if so what should i use, and for the oil sump is it true that on a 200tdi there is no gasket but you need to use a sealant but what sealant should i use? thanks in advance sorry if this question has been answered already.

I used RTV gasket silicon on mine , but nothing on the rocker cover - spend a few £ more for a Genuine one , Ive seen ****part ones that dont even match the profile of the rocker cover .....
