Looking for a bit of a diesel fuel pump as the one I have is shot.

Its the part that receives the pipe from the first pump into the high pressure diesel pump. It screws in at the bottom of the high pressure pump. Looks like it could be a pretty standard hydraulic fitting but as I cant remove the pressure nut that squashes the end of the fuel pipe I'm a bit nacked for sizes.

Anyone know what I need to ask for or indeed know where I can get hold of one.

ere you go................... this bit.

I've a 72 series 3 with the same pump but that bottom feed is just a hose that goes into the one hole via a nipple and is pinned in by only one nut, i can see the same nut on yours but yours has even more bits on it. Yours has that big fat cylinder bit too so I'm not sure whether you need that as mine is dead simple and very easy to remove and replace. I don't know what that hose even does though? from my own experience i couldn't find any individual parts for the pump only a full replacement, but the cav pumps are common so i reckon its based on the cav pump part wise rather than a landy parts seller. I broke the linkage cover bolts (well my mate did) and no replacements for those so a fixings shop just sorted something similar that worked for me, different issue but same idea :)

Oh, this aint a pic of mine. Just one I googled for reference. Looking at it again today I dont think its exactly the same but very similar.

Basically its a male fitting with a flexible pipe connector on the end. I may have to have a drive to a hydraulic factors and pop it off on the car park.

If its only the bottom part you need i have a spare one ! Pm me if you cannot find one close by. ;)

After a visit to my local hydraulic suppliers today I have some news. The fitting is in two parts. The first part that screws into the pump body is only an adapter and holds the second part that is a none return valve and a compression fitting to take the fuel line. Unfortunately they couldnt help me as the bit I have destroyed is the second part and without knowing details of the valve pressures and spring tensions within the valve they could be giving me something dangerous.
The good news however is I have managed to botch the fuel line connection so at the moment I am without the fuel leak thank goodness.

This is getting a bit confusing  i just looked at mine and i have no valve ...just the first part with a compression fitting on the fuel line from the lift pump .......it starts and runs perfect .

That bit is the valve. It sits inside, just behind the compression fitting. The other bit is just the adapter that marries with the pump. Otherwise it may have been bodged at some point.

Ignore what i said bob, after finally looking at mine it is the same as the top picture, and all i have ever unthreaded is the very end retaining nut, im no help! :/

Its probably been removed at some stage, people cut the fuel pipes around for a pastime.
The first bit is an adapter, possibly a flow restrictor as well, the other bit only prevents backflow under certain circumstances, so it probably wont affect running.
If possible, try and get the full set-up when you can, it is there for a reason.
All this stuff should be available from a Delphi Diesel stockist, they may need to order it in, this is old kit now.
