fuel pump mounting

got my 109"1974 stripped down to chassis and noticed the electric fuel pump mounted midway on the chassis has rubber mountings which are kaput, are these mountings isolated from the chassis for any particular reason, just wondered if i can make a bracket that bolts it directly to chassis.

If they look like miniature engine mounts they're easy enough to get - try your local motor factors or anywhere that sells fuel pumps. My son fitted an electric fuel pump to his kit car and it buzzed like buggery until he got the right mounts.
