Similarly to your old TD, the TDi only uses one throttle cable, what would lead you to think any differently? I am almost certain that the existing TD cable will fit, if anything it may be too long but you can adjust it to suit.

Sounds like you had a hand throttle if you had 2 cables to the fuel pump ---- see what one moves when the press the peddle then use that one
