Fuel Problem

I have recently bought a discovery td5 very happy with it but all of a sudden it has started playing up,I drive for about 4 miles it just cuts out,I can hear anoise from the back which i suspect is the fuel pump,give a few turns of the key and it does another 4 miles i can hear the pump again any ideas please

defently sounds like your fuel pump could possibly be the relay

When u say relay do u mean electrical when it breaks down i can hear what sounds like air going into the filter

if you can hear air going into a fuel filter it sounds like you have a air leak. try to find the leak and you will fix your problem.

Could be fuel tank breather blocked and creating a vacuum in the fuel tank.

yes i mean electrical, in the engine compartment fuse box, is the air sound like high pitch sound,

yes thats right it is a high pitch sound thank you for all the feed back
