Any of you guys know the part numbers of the metal delivery & return pipes from the tank to the
common rail on a 1990 3.9efi ? .... mine has more holes than a swiss cheese along the chassis ! at the moment i,m running with flexible pipes just to keep the thing on the road ! ( not the best of ideas i agree ) Any help would be appreciated
 
Used kunifer pipe when mine (86 3.5EFi) went.
It's around 20 years ago & IIRC 1/4" bore which I think is 6mm not the 3/16 normally used in brake lines.
Remove the old ones carefully & use them as patterns to bend the new.

You may find that the original ones are obsolete & NLA.
Have a look on here to see which ones you want:

Click on the heading, then the numbers on the parts to get the part numbers. Some part numbers will have been superceded but the new numbers usually show up when you google the old.

Hi just found the ones i need ! But the cost has convinced me to go with your advice
and find some Kunifer pipe and make my own !! surely it can,t be that difficult even for a numpty like me..
i will keep you posted on progress .....thanks
 
If you need to do any tightish bends get an old broom handle or similar & file a groove slightly larger than the od of the pipe.
Clamp the handle in a vice & bend the pipe in the groove by hand
Stops a sudden kink appearing which will close the pipe.

Damn good idea ! I just got 2 lengths of the correct pipe from the JCB garage next door ! so weekend i shall sort it out ( weather permiting )
When i found them on the internet i could not belive the prices ! £120 each plus £45 for the short one from the pump too the filter.
