Hi. I'm new to the forum so don't know how to do this!. Recently bought a Defender 1989 2.5 diesel. Having problems with air in the tank and someone suggested that the fuel lift pump diaphragm might be split. So went i bought a new one from a local part dealer (not geuine Land Rover but generic pump), but everytime I fit it and go out it conks out and I have to prime the pump to get home. I've put the old back on and it ok, everytime I fit the new one I get 2 miles and stop!! HELP!!!!

The "new" pump isn't pumping, probably because it needs a sort of adapter plate thing fitted between it and the engine. This pump may have been wrecked inside if you fitted it and ran the engine without the adapter thing.

If the old pump works, one is bound to ask ......

Awww!! Me favorites 'Guess Who's The Biggest Feckin **** Night'. I like them nights. They keeps me amoosed...

aye but she's playing the field before she ties the knot.

Yup .... the lady could be doing just that .... she could come and play in my field any time she likes.

Only 5 sheep in the field now. Moved the rest up the road to pastures new.

And a few off to become kebabs too.

sob ....

Am just keepin me opshuns open! There's a difference ye know.. Trew dus have 'guest rooms' and 'suits of armour' and 'wiccy' in his 'Cornish Castle'. Well the wiccy might well be gone by now but thass no bother am sure theres plenty more o that in the cellar.. On the other hand, CharlesY's got a 'tracter' and a 'digger' and a 'field wiff 5 sheeps' an a 'freezer full o lamb chops'... not sure what Handshandy's got to offer...but I might well fear fer me wrong'un.

So iss a tough decision...

And I got two screens on my computer .... and a colour laser printer for your girly things ... and a log splitter that sits on the back of the tractor to make it easier for you to split the logs to keep me warm .... I mean, what more could a girl want?
