Morning Folks,

Fuel Leak Freelander 2004

Elderly neighbour was round yesterday saying he could smell diesel from his vehicle, on closer inspection I noticed a small puddle where he had it parked on the drive.

Started the vehicle and turned it off and droplets of diesel were landing behind the driver passengers rear wheel area, just in front of the wheel.

Have attached an image of where the drops were landing .

Will take a look for him over the weekend but a heads up on what it possibly could be would be much appreciated.

Fuel pump is located in that area behind plastic housing
Has above fuel pump and fuel filter, but it could be the water pot which catches any water in the fuel it needs draining ever now then maybe three times a year, i doubt many do the job to be honest.

Peel back the wheel arch liner.

Note the catch tank can be drained with out removing the wheel arch liner.

Top job @ Arctic2 I didn't even know they had a catch tank I will check mine at the weekend

Third pic round thingy bit like a tap looks like you just unscrew it but not 100%sure on that
It just unscrews with fingers (might be tight).
As said by Arctic, behind that wheel arch is a fuel filter and LP fuel pump, so you really want to be taking the arch off and checking all the connections both in and out and the state of the pipes

The catch tank can be accessed from under the car use container to catch the fluid.

The outlet screw is just that it unscrews, to loose out any water within the tank or any other debris,

I used to remove it and give it a clean out once a year.
