Fuel Gauge / Possible EML issue???

Good Evening all, greetings from a forum newbie!
I've had my FL1 (2001 1.8 ES) for almost a year now and have learned a fair bit on how they work due to repairs shall we say!!! I'm slowly getting there (fingers crossed) but I've noticed that whenever I fill up with fuel, once running for a while and the gauge reads roughly 3/4 full the EML comes on and goes off when nearer the 1/2 full mark. I've not had the fault checked as yet with a diagnostics machine as it normally clears by the time I remember to ring someone. Thinking about it, it's happened on quite a few occasions so I'm just wondering if anyone out there in Freelander world has experienced similar issues or is it likely to be just coincidence??? :crazy:

So the eml light comes on at 3/4 full and stays on until 1/2 full when it goes off? I assume this involves stop/starts on different trips/days?

If the tank level is reading correctly then you can assume the sensor is reading correctly. You'll need to see if there's any diagnostic codes available causing the eml to light.

Morning Hippo, thanks for the reply. Yeah it's just as you say, just thought it strange it's only when the fuel mark is at those points. I'll have to get my finger out and get it on a machine next time it happens! Cheers

If the lights been on it should store the code in its memory
