Looking to change fuel filter (engine mounted) TD4 (65K) this weekend as part of service. Looking in Haynes looks straight forward, although it looks like they remove it from below. Had a poke under bonnet and it looks a real pig to get at from above (below ECU). Is it a case of just swapping it out, filling with diesel and re-connecting the pipes? No bleading/priming required.

Thanks

Just read the thread that Lev put a link to. Dont take the self tapping screw all the way out, just undo it enough to lift the filter up and out.

To prime it, turn the ignition on for a minute, wait for the pump to stop then turn the ignition off and on again for about a minute, then start the engine.

Dont sit there cranking it like it says in the other thread, you'll kill the battery and starter.
