Hello
Is there any info anywhere for recommended diesel to put in a landy?
I have never used diesel before so wanted to get a bit of info on which is the best to use.
Ta :)

Cheapest....Ive always found morrisons to be good, and every now and again i get £5 given back to me. Also helps that i take the ambulances there too.

Thanks for the info there but I wasnt really after the cheapest fuel rather the best fuel for mpg & protecting the engine, performance etc.

Diesels diesel, they will run on engine oil and kero better than they will on Diesel anyway.

There really are only two types anyway, normal, and then the slightly more expensive stuff thats just got low sulphur and goes by the names of "city diesel", "super diesel", "go faster vroom diesel"... hmmm it does work a little better.

So whats this bio diesel then? (I think thats probably a daft question but I'll ask anyways) ;)

Essentaily made from veg oil, run through a process called transesterification that exchanges the alkoxy group of an ester compound with some alchohol and gains a proton along the way. The whole process almost halfs the molecule size, which makes it a little thinner, and gaining the proton makes it more reactive.

It can be mixed with DERV, in fact all diesel from grangemouth has a small percentage already. This is a blend, they usually start at 5% and go as high as 100%, which as suggested would be pure bio diesel.

Kero and oil, thats good...

They die heating kero yellow, yet diesel is yellow anyway, its a bit more luminecent but still yellow.
