I can see a pattern forming
Owned the car less than 3 weeks

Today was 4 th visit to local LR dealer and the frst time didnt come back with my car

Not quite as bad as expected, Oil leak from Output shaft of auto box

After waiting an hour to confirm the fault
anything from £50 - £300

Left with them and waiting a call

Word of warning when considering buying a Land Rover

Ensure you have a reliable second car to fall back on

mpressed with fuel economy though, I filled it up week last saturday and its still full, Mainly cos i dare not drive it anywhere it case it breaks.

You have got to love them (after 9 yrs of Toyota)

I bet they were the most boring 9 years of your life ;)

Land Rovers have soul

In a Billy Joel voice - Its all about soul!

Hope it gets sorted, when you say output shaft, is that from gearbox to IRD seal or gear selector oil seal?

Auto Gearbox to IRD

Ahh.. just a poxy o-ring seal but IRD will have to come off to replace it. A few hours labour at most.

Possibly a replacement driveshaft seal for RHS, plus IRD and gearbox oil drain/refill

Clutchdust says he can strip gearbox/IRD/ remov driveshafts and replace clutch in two hours

yu wont let that go - will ya NI (wot about all my posts addressed to "LR"?) - I think Clutchy sed he had - not always.

Shutty - why dont yu PM clutchdust and see if he can do it. The feedback would be , erm, interesting :D

neither was I, to a point. The peeps on here that have had work done by Clutchy all sing his praises - so why not send peeps to him (if they are Brissul way).

unless he dont want them any more?

Been there done that. Lats year we brought a new Freebie 3Dr HSE 6 breakdowns in the first 4 months and every time a sensor failed.

At one stage they gave us a replacement on an 06 plate built the same month as ours.

Went on holiday and that one broke down with the same sensor fault at around 3,500 miles so within 250 miles of ours.

After a bit of digging we found 250 freebies built/delivered in or around May 06 that had all had the same problems.

Still it's been a good as gold since and is being upgraded to a freebie 2 this winter.

Still not got it back yet, rang today to be told it wasnt what they thought it was and needed the autobox removed

I asked roughly how much and was told they would ring me back.....

I'm still waiting - Should i be worried
