Twice, I have found my rear door frozen solid and been unable to unlock the door after a night shift.

Is there anything I can do to overcome this?

The damn thing is always unlocked by the time I finish my journey.

could try rubbing the rubber seal with a silicon lube, but not a lot you can do.

once famously stood outside a hotel in wales with my wife and suitcases waiting for the heated rear windscreen to warm the window enough to let it drop.

Is it the actual lock itself that's frozen or the seal? Could try spraying some deicer into the lock or heating up the key with a lighter and hope that it'll defrost the lock.

If its the seal smear it in cooking oil the night before and it should stop it from freezing

dont pull too hard at door handle ,it amazing how many break off in cold freezing weather they are very poor screwed on the door

I am not sure what is actually frozen enough to stop the rear window dropping and door unlocking.

I also notice that each time the wiper won't work either, even though it is definitely not frozen to the window.

Tomorrow morning before I finish my shift, I shall try and run it for at least 10 minutes to warm things up.
Dreadful waste of fuel though.
