Can someone give me some advice, please.
I need to change the o/s wheel cylinder on my 1977 series 3, but don't seem to be able to find a socket to fit the retaining nuts. I've tried metric, also AF. Does anyone know what size they are supposed to be?

Thanks. That's what I feared.
What would be the easiest solution? Would it be to take the whole backplate off?
Will that entail taking the hub apart?

Nice sharp cold chisel may remove them. As you're replacing the cylinders you havn't got to worry about studs as the new cylinder will have them. Otherwise grinder, heat them and they'll probably undo . . . .

I seem to recall when I did one I ended up taking the wheel hub and bearing off the axle then the back plate comes off the stub...if that's what all the bits are called. I ended up needing a new flexi hose and brake pipe to flexi hose as it all was rusted together.

You do need a good thin walled socket or ring spanner to get in there especialy if some one has put nuts on without locking washers.
