Just went to change the front pads and discs on the TD4.

Started with the passangers side got the disc on no problem and pads in place but when closing the calliper it wont close. as its hitting the pad furthest away from the piston. Ive push the piston back in so thats not the problem.

any ideas what the problem could be?

Wrong disks & pads?

I can't tell what year yours is, but the later discs are vented and are thicker, needing different callipers.

What did you take off and what have you put on?

its a 51 plate td4. it had the vented on and ive replaced it with vented one.

theys plenty of room closest to the piton but just not on the other side its catch by about 5mm

Have you replaced the calliper sliders? If not do so. They should be changed at the same time. Sounds like they are stuck/sticking. Should get some for £20 or less. Use the grease that comes with them to lubricate the and the rubbers.
