Front mudflaps - which way round?

Fitting front and rear flaps tonight.

Fitting front first. Holes and RivNuts in outrigger, but I can't figure out which way round the bracket should fix to the outrigger (have searched all over for a pic to demonstrate.)

Here are the brackets I have:

My flap is attached on the label side (yellow label in pic), so should the label side of the bracket be facing the front wheel or away from it?

Incidentally, the reason I'm (perhaps stupidly) confused is that I'd have thought the metal being behind the flap would act as a support rather.

Them brackets look like rear x member ones. Or that is what mine looked like until they rusted away and I binned them.

No, they're definitely front ones. I've put POV15 all over to limit their deterioration.

Any idea on direction?

the curved part (on left of photo) points to the outside of drivers side

But they look good and stop ****e from spraying so much everywhere. Plus, they contain the word flap.

The flap fits on the label side, held on by a strip of metal and bolts. and that side also faces the wheel.
